*About Rosario*
Rosario
Isabel Dawson was
born in Brooklyn on May 7, 1979. A few years after Rosario was born her
family packed up and moved to Lower East Side of Manhattan where she,
her mother, and her younger brother lived as squatters in an old abandon
tenement building. Rosario had never pictured herself as an actress,
even though she loved to sing, dance, and perform for an audience, she
had always aspired to find a career in marine biology. But one day when
Rosario was 15 she was sitting outside on her stoop watching a movie
that was being filmed on her street, director Larry Clark approached her
and asked her if she would like to be in his upcoming film, Kids.
Rosario was apprehensive but agreed. The shooting took place over the
course of the next 3 days and in the end Rosario walked away with 100
dollar bill in her pocket and a new found passion for acting. After the
screening and premiere of Kids, Rosario and her family decided to move
away from the craziness of New York and bought a house in Texas. A year
after the move Rosario got a call from Larry Clark telling her he had
several different directors demanding to get in contact with her and
script upon script sitting on his desk for her to read. So Rosario made
the decision to move back to New York to begin a career in acting. She
attended Hunter College and then enrolled in the Lee Strasburg Film and
Acting Institute as a finishing school. By the time she had finished
college she already had 4 films under her belt and had launched herself
full swing into her career as an actress.
